Happy July Everyone!!
We hope your July 4th holiday was filled with hot dogs, fireworks, family time, and all the fun summer festivities. But mostly filled with the best modern-day invention: air conditioning. However, the heat never stops babies from being born!
In June, Gladney placed three babies. One was born in Texas, one in Georgia, and another in New York. It is worth noting that all three of these matches had very specific requests in the family that only allowed Gladney to send a few families to the expectant moms. One birth mother wanted a family that lived in Texas and the other two birth mothers wanted black families. All three children placed are Black. One of the families was matched a little over a month, while the other two were only matched a few days before they took placement of the children. Two of the families waited less than Gladney’s average wait, while the third family’s wait at placement was within their typical wait-time window of 20 months. We are currently at 23 months of waiting.
Gladney is currently working with 45 expectant moms who are at various stages of their adoption journey. We are still 6th in line. We are still hopeful we will be placed soon.
