In April, Gladney had four placements. All were in Texas. Three of the four families who took placement waited a bit longer than their average wait of 24 months, with the fourth family still waiting well over a year, but most specifically matching family elements that are important to their child’s birth parent. Two children were biracial- African American and Latino, one was African American, and one was Caucasian. In step with their recent trends, all the matches were short. The longest one was 22 days, the shortest were two days (two of them were this short). This month, they saw 4 placements.
They are working with 50 expectant moms at various stages of the process. While many are in Texas, several are also spread all over the US. The expectant parent caseworker team has been busy visiting expectant moms in Tennessee, Washington DC, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, and Alabama, just to name a few states.
Currently they have 93 Active and waiting families. And they anticipate a busy summer. We are 51st in line.
