Adoption Update

Posted on June 7, 2024October 27, 2024 by Erica

Happy first Friday in June!

In May 5 families took placement. Unlike Gladney’s recent trend of matches being less than a week, all of May’s matches were 15 days or longer. Three of them were matched for less than a month, one was matched for about two months, and one was matched for about three months.

Three of the families were active for about 18 months, one was around 30 months, and the other was closer to 36 months before taking placement. We are currently at 22 months of waiting.

All of the children were born in Texas. Three of the children were Biracial -African American and Caucasian, and the other two were full Caucasian.

All the families were able to spend time in the hospital with these babies and take placement as soon as the babies were discharged, with one family staying in Texas for about a month while their child was in the NICU.

May also had a slowdown of Birth mothers. In the entire month of May, we only received one profile opportunity. Gladney is hopeful it will pick back up soon. We are currently 6th in line. Remember the top 10 families in line are offered every opportunity that walks through the door. We are still hopeful we will be placed soon!

Thinking of you and Chris. Waiting is so hard but this will all make the ending that much sweeter. Sending you both much love💞
