Happy Spring Everyone!!!
March was another very busy month for Gladney with seven placements! They were all over the US this month, with three in Texas, one in Georgia, one in Ohio, one in New York, and one in Montana! Keeping on trend, five of the seven families were matched for seven days or less before taking placement, while the other two were matched longer- one for about a month, and the other for a little over three months.
Six children were Caucasian, the other African American, and for most all they anticipate semi-open to open post-adoption relationships. All of the placements involved some degree of criminal, drug exposure, and or mental health to varying degrees.
Two of the families were “very long waiting” having waited longer than 24 months, two families were on the long side of the average wait at 20-24 months, one family was at the average wait of about 18 months, and two families were well below the average at less than 15 months. If you’ve been keeping track for a while, you’ll be pleased to see that 20-24 months is now the “longer side” of the average wait. They are seeing it tick down closer to 18-20 months. We are currently at 20 months of waiting!
Gladney is currently working with about 50 expectant birth mothers right now. They are hopeful that the rest of spring into early summer will sustain the busy pace that they have seen since January! We are currently 9th in line and expect to be placed very soon!!!!
That is fantastic, 9th in line, I am so happy for guys.
Love,
Mom 😊
