Gladney has once again been hard at work! February had a total of 10 placements. Here are the latest numbers:
-Of the 10 placements, two babies were full Caucasian, two were full African American, three were full Hispanic, one was biracial (half Caucasian/half Hispanic), and two were at least half Caucasian but the father was unknown so they do not know the full race of the child.
-Of the ten placements last month, four were held in Texas and six occurred in other states including Alabama, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
Additionally, they continue to see fast moving opportunities. Women are coming to them just a few weeks before they deliver or while they are in the hospital after delivery.
-Of the ten placements last month, four of the ten were matched less than a week before placement. Another four were matched less than a month before placement…. Which means 80% of those matched had less than a month’s time to connect with their matched birth mother, make arrangements with their employers, book travel and accommodation arrangements, and complete other necessary logistics. If you can imagine, it can be stressful to navigate all the moving parts!
Because of this continuing trend, they are advising all waiting families to keep their files up to date to ensure they are not scrambling to also meet files requirements once matched or have to be passed over for urgent profile opportunities due to out of date requirements.
As of today, they are working with 49 women on their adoption plan. As a reminder, these women are at various stages in their adoption process. There are some that have already delivered and completed their adoption plan and others who are still receiving options counseling from their caseworker. Additionally, as of today, they are working with 93 Active, unmatched, and waiting families. We are 60th in line.
